Diego Fernández is a partner with the IP, IT & Privacy Group at Marval, O´Farrell & Mairal in Argentina.
Diego also worked as a visiting foreign counsel with Foley & Lardner LLP in the Chicago Office and was a member of the firm’s IT & Privacy Law Group and the Latin American Practice Group.
Diego’s expertise includes data protection & privacy, software licensing, outsourcing agreements, cybersecurity & cybercrime, e-commerce, , Intellectual Property, IP & IT in M&A transactions, Fintech, and IT compliance.
In 2013, he earned an LL.M degree in IT & Privacy Law from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago, where he participated as the international student’s ambassador and acting vice president of the Privacy & IT Law Society.
Diego is a Board Member and Chair of the Latin America Membership Committee of the International Technology Law Association (ITechLaw), co-Chair of the Buenos Aires KnowledgeNet Chapter of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), member of the Technology Committee of the International Bar Association (IBA), member of the Internet Committee of the International Trademark Association (INTA), and member of the Open Source Software Committee of the American Bar Association.
Diego is listed in Chambers Latin America for TMT, Who’s Who Legal Data 2018 and 2019 (and also as a Thought Leader), and has been included by Global Data Review as a member of their 40-under-40 global raking.
